Can I make recurring credit card gifts?

Yes. The monastery accepts recurring credit card gifts in any amount and on whatever schedule is convenient for you. Recurring credit card gifts can enable you to make a more significant gift than you might otherwise be able to afford at one time. You can call us to set up a recurring gift at

How do I make a pledge?

After setting up your pledge you can then make your payments by credit card online or if you prefer you can mail a check made out to Monastery of the Holy Spirit to: Monastery of the Holy Spirit Funds, 2625 Highway 212 SW, Conyers, GA 30094-4044. Can I make a gift via electronic funds transfer (EFT)?

Where should I direct my gift? What are the monastery's current priorities?

The General Fund

The monastery’s annual appeal is directed toward the general fund which is to help supplement our income from our monastery industries. It goes toward the operations, ongoing upkeep and maintenance of our 50-plus years old building, and the care of our aging and infirm brothers.

The Season of Renewal Capital Campaign

On April of last year (2008), the monastery launched a capital campaign to raise funds for a building project. This project is specifically for the building of a “Public Gathering Space” so that we can better accommodate the increasing number of visitors as well as better our finical income. The project costs 6.5 million dollars. As of October 2009 we have raised 3.5 million. We need the help of our many friends and benefactors to raise the needed funds.

What are the tax benefits of making a gift to the monastery?

Monastery of the Holy Spirit is designated as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Therefore, all gifts to the monastery are tax deductible in the United States.

How can I make a gift of securities to the monastery?

If your securities are held "in street name" with your broker, send your broker a letter of authorization to transfer (not sell) shares of specific stock(s) to the Monastery of the Holy Spirit’s brokerage account.

Your instructions should specify your account number; the date by which you wish to complete the gift, the name and number of shares you would like to donate and the purpose of your gift (e.g. unrestricted gift to the Monastery General Fund, or gift to Capital Campaign Fund) and provide the following transfer information:
