Monastery Trail Races - 2019

Saturday, June 8, 2019 - 8:30am
Category: Event

This is the 10th year of our race event that includes a 5K and 1-mile fun run. We've added an 8-mile endurance race for the third time. Last year's 8-miler was a blast with a surprisingly growing number of participants.
We are excited about this year’s annual Monastery trail races. This event is unlike any other race you'll go to… ever! This is the third year since we've added the 8-mile race! Runners and walkers will have a unique opportunity to trek through the Monastery woodlands to enjoy the serene and peaceful landscape. This is a trail run on open-air courses over natural dirt or grass terrain. Inquiries about the race, send email.
REGISTER NOW - Early Registration Fees (extended): (Prices go up after May 26)

                    "Run with the Monks"
A Fun Fundraiser for a Great Cause!

The Monastery of the Holy Spirit has teamed up with
“Haiti Humanitarian Fund”
for this 10th annual fundraiser. Proceeds from this event and sponsorship go directly to the HHF.

About the HHF - The parish community of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Conyers, Georgia embraced this community-to-community twinning project with a parish in Haiti which identified healthcare as a pressing need in Los Palis, Haiti. The Haiti Humanitarian Fund was created to address this need.

All of the proceeds from registration for the races and sponsorship will go directly to the Mercy Heart Clinic. Please help us make this event a success!

Pray with the monks:
It has become a tradition for many participants who choose to join the monks before the race for Morning Prayer & Mass at 7:00 a.m. with the race following immediately after Mass. Please allow ample time to park and walk to the Abbey Church. The races begin soon after the conclusion of Mass. All the races begin at the same time, 8:30 am.
The Routes:
The race starts in front of the Monastery Visitor Center and then goes on the trails that weave among the monastery’s scenic woodlands and lakesides. You'll run past lakes and open fields with amazing views. You'll run up repentance hill (a 1/4 mile challenging hill in the middle of the course). Then you'll run through more amazing trails and end up at the Visitor Center. At the end of the 5K race, the 8-miler continues on a new route for the remaining 4.9 miles to complete the 8-miler.
