The monthly Highlights & Insights Tour at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit is offered on scheduled Saturdays. You can see the available dates on the registration page where you can choose your preferred day.
During the Highlights & Insights Tour, visitors are invited to revel in the profound beauty and history of one of the most magnificent places in Georgia. Docents will guide visitors on a remarkable journey through a place filled with purpose and discover the spiritual landscape where Trappist monks live, work, and pray in a community cloistered from the outside world.
Participants will gain insight into the Abbey Church’s architecture and construction, marvel at hand-crafted stained glass, and will be joined by a monk to visit spaces normally closed to the public. The tours give visitors a special opportunity to discover why the Monastery of the Holy Spirit is considered the spiritual gateway in the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area.
Pre-registration is required. This monthly scheduled tour can only accommodate a small group so registration fills up quickly. No worries, just sign up for the next tour date that you see on the registration page. The two-hour tour is from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and begins near the entrance to the Abbey Store. The cost is $12 for all participants. The tickets can be purchased at http://monasterytours.bpt.me. You must pre-register on line. (Reg fee is $12.00). No walk-on accepted.
