Death of Brother Eutropius Bollinger, OCSO (1946-2013)

Brother Eutropius Bollinger, 66, monk of the Cistercian (Trappist) Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia died peacefully on Wednesday June 19, 2013 after a brief illness.

Brother Eutropius was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 1, 1946. He entered the monastery on April 1, 1994 and professed solemn vows as a Cistercian on October 10, 1999. He enjoyed religious life as a monk for 19 years.

Brother is survived by his parents John and Margaret Bollinger of Jacksonville Florida, his daughter Amy and three sisters, Peggy, Melissa and Beth.

In addition to daily manual work, Brother Eutropius served the community as a master plumber and caring for the needs of visiting families of monks.
Eternal life grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
