Celebrating 73 years of foundation, we, the monks of the Monastery of the Holy Spirit, a community of Catholic men, seek God through a common life of prayer, study, and work giving witness to Christ and the Gospel, in service to the church and the world. We belong to the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance (also known as “Trappists”) which is a monastic institute wholly ordered to contemplation. We are dedicated to the worship of God in a hidden life within the monastery leading a monastic way of life in solitude and silence, in assiduous prayer and joyful penitence as defined in our Constitutions. We are at the “the school of charity” finding the source of inspiration in the Rule of Saint Benedict. We serve the Church and the wider community through our contemplative prayer in silence and solitude, in pastoral ministry, and in hospitality to people of all faiths.
